This elegant Villeroy & Boch "Valeria" teapot, dating to the 1920s, captures the enduring charm of traditional European tableware at a time when design was gently shifting from the ornate 19th century towards the cleaner lines of the modern era.
The Valeria pattern features graceful red floral sprays, finely detailed through the transfer printing technique, set against a warm cream ground. While this pattern can also be found in blue, this soft red colour is quite rare.
Its generous, rounded form, decorative handle scroll, and neat lid finial reflect the continuation of late Victorian and Edwardian design influences well into the early 20th century.
Made in Villeroy & Boch’s renowned Mettlach workshops, this teapot was crafted with both beauty and practicality in mind. The spout pours smoothly, the lid fits securely, and the quality of the glaze has preserved the clarity of the print for over a century.
Perfect for serving tea with vintage charm or as a display piece in a china cabinet, it is a wonderful addition for collectors of Villeroy & Boch porcelain, red transferware, or anyone drawn to the romance of historic table settings. It makes a perfect set with the creamer and sugar bowl, which are also available in red Valeria.

In the 20th century, Villeroy & Boch expanded globally, becoming a leader in bathroom ceramics and modernizing its production processes. The company embraced new technologies and sustainable practices, positioning itself as a luxury brand.
Today, Villeroy & Boch remains a family-owned business headquartered in Mettlach, Germany, continuing its tradition of excellence while adapting to modern trends. Their products, from elegant tableware to innovative bathroom solutions, reflect a timeless blend of heritage and contemporary design.
