Collection: DECORA Keramik

Decora Keramik is a sparsely documented German maker active in the 1950s - 60s, likely within the Westerwald ceramics tradition. Surviving pieces indicate small-series, hand-worked production. Decora favoured substantial, hand-thrown forms built from iron-rich red “Klinker” clay.

Decoration is the signature: bold sgraffito (Ritzdekor) cut directly into the brick-toned body, often revealing chalk-light incisions that read as stripes, zigzags or abstract panels. Surfaces tend to be matte or softly burnished; glazes, if present, are restrained and architectural. The result is tactile, graphic pottery that pairs beautifully with teak, stone and linen - mid-century warmth with an honest, kiln-fired presence.
